TEL's uniqueness centers in our philosophy of servanthood, blending and
continuity.
Servanthood: Taking a lesson from Paul,
we consider ourselves Biblical servant missionaries (Romans 1:1). While we
are recruiting and training men and women to
co-labor with us full-time, we do so in order to serve the existing church,
particularly in terms of developing and strengthening the church's evangelistic
endeavors. We do not plant our own churches, but partner with established
churches to advance the Kingdom of God.
Blending: We seek to establish a
permanent blending of missionaries and nationals who work together in spreading
the gospel. The missionary and the national labor together as one.
We emphasize evangelism and follow-up, public evangelism
and individual witness. We believe the most effective
evangelistic ministry is a result of all spiritual gifts working together in
unity and harmony to glorify Jesus Christ. That is our goal.
Continuity: We seek to ensure the
continued growth and development of new believers by linking them to the local
church for regular and full fellowship. In this way they are not solely
dependent on the missionary. In addition, we seek to ensure the longevity
of the ministry by establishing chains of spiritual reproduction through the
training of individuals in personal evangelism,
personal follow-up and one-on-one discipleship. In this way, again, the
on-going work of the Gospel is not solely dependent on the missionary.
